I am beyond excited to follow the Houston 2012 Marathon Olympic Trials this Saturday. I will be glued to the tube, getting some stretching in, watching the coverage 3-5 PM EST on NBC, but will also we following via twitter and interweb outlets as soon as the gone goes off at 9:00 AM (Men) and 9:15 AM (Women) EST.
I have been following up on all the athletes blogs; perusing flotrack.org, and following all the tweets. It may be an obsession, but with that it provides me motivation and inspiration to get out and get my workouts done. A recent blog I stumbled upon is Brooke Wells, a columnist from the Huffington Post, who is also racing this weekend. I have read her stuff before, but never her personal blog. The day I stumble up on it, she has an awesome post, in which is on a topic I have been turning over and over lately.
BE INTENTIONAL!
One of my downfalls in 2010 was muddling around my goals and not holding myself accountable. Well not only will I be holding myself accountable, all of you will be too! Don't worry you don't have to do anything. I intend to be intentional day in and day out for every workout.
In 2012, I would like to break 11 hours in a full Ironman.
Some may think this is ambitious and other might not care. I know that my body is capable of this and now I just need to train my mind to accept it. If I can't put this in writing because I am too scared, have doubt, or am too nervous it might not happen I sure as heck shouldn't be toeing the starting line.
Fear is not an option.
On a little bit lighter note, I also stumbled upon two new Gu flavors I am pumped to try.
