Stunned and still seeing stars with the month already being over. It has been a whirlwind. I feel like a spent the first two weeks being sick and recovering from the holidays and contemplating a race/training plan (which is still yet to be finalized). Since I was sick I didn't get the start to the season I wanted. It is go time, but I have been having some nagging calf issues and started massage back up. I plan to attack the body with rolling, massage, and stretching to get it back to performance ready.
I also went to allergy testing to get tested for various bee allergies. I am allergic to wasp, yellow jacket, white faced hornet, and two others, but not the honey bee. I need to decide if I want to do the "allergy shots" to make me immune to the venom. I need to commit to getting a shot once a week for about 8 months and then once a month for a couple years. Does anyone have experience with this? It seems like a lot of time, but I am always outside and don't really want to have to worry about it since my experience last summer happened so fast.
I got to see the band Fun live for free at a really awesome venue in Detroit! It was great food, lots to drink, and an awesome time.
I got some great snowboarding in this year already with a trip up north and an awesome surprise. I am so excited and happy to announce I got engaged to my best friend and handsome boo. I am overjoyed and beyond excited for the rest of our lives and all the adventures that come along with it. The date and location is still up in the air (IT HAS BEEN A WEEK AND 1/2 PEOPLE!). We of course will need to be arranging this around race schedules, but hopefully figuring it out soon. I have already had someone ask me if I got my dress yet.
I ended the month with this last weekend in Colorado where I attended the Rev3 Team Summit. There are some amazing things and people coming out of this company, but I will leave that to the next post. :)
First - congrats on getting engaged! That is fantastic!
ReplyDelete2nd - the questions will not stop 'do you have your dress? venue? date? colors? (ugh - that freaking color question!) then it will go to when are you having a baby?' Don't worry - the questions wont' stop!
3rd - don't stress too much about the wedding. I didn't and it was a blast!
4th - a shot a week? ugh. that does not sound fun!
First of all, good to SEE you at summit :D... January DID fly by didn't it!! CONGRATS again on the engagement, that's awesome!! And for shots... Alex has been doing something similar for his allergies and after awhile it just becomes habit BUT sometimes it gets in the way - vacation, trips, things get busy and all of a sudden you are like "when was the last time you got your shot??" But if you are deathly allergic, probably worth it.
